Bayern Munich face a massive Champions League test against Arsenal, and there will be plenty of individual battles worth watching when these two European heavyweights meet. But which Gunners player are you most interested in seeing take the pitch?
Bukayo Saka is an obvious candidate. The England international brings pace, creativity, and a direct threat that could test Bayern’s defensive organization. Declan Rice is another fascinating option, with his ability to control midfield, win duels, and drive
Arsenal forward. Then there is Martin Ødegaard, whose vision and ability to find space between the lines could cause problems if Bayern Munich allow him too much time on the ball.
Viktor Gyökeres could also be one to watch if Arsenal can get him involved in dangerous areas (and because he could be playing to sell himself for a January move), while Eberechi Eze offers the kind of individual brilliance that can change a game in an instant.
However, Arsenal will have some important absences to contend with. William Saliba remains sidelined with a back injury, while Piero Hincapié is recovering from an ankle injury. Christos Tzolis is also out with a hamstring injury. Martin Zubimendi has been dealing with an ankle problem, although his availability has been less certain ahead of the weekend. In addition, Kai Havertz is dealing with some thigh issues. These fitness issues could affect Arsenal’s defensive stability and midfield options.
From a Bayern Munich perspective, those absences could be significant. Saliba’s absence would be particularly interesting given the challenge of containing Harry Kane, while any disruption to Arsenal’s midfield could give Bayern more opportunities to dictate the tempo.
So, who is your pick? Saka, Rice, Ødegaard, Gyökeres, Eze, or somebody else entirely? Or…maybe none of them at all! Tell us below!
