The signing of Dani Olmo in the summer of 2024 was certainly not unanimous among Barcelona fans when the midfielder returned home after some time in Croatia and Germany, where he rose to prominence at RB Leipzig and provided enough evidence of his potential to earn an expensive move back to where it all began.
Barça chose Olmo for his talent and his connection with the club, and the Blaugrana certainly chose him over some other big names and hot prospects at the time while also having to fight tooth
and nail — including in the courts — to register him.
Dani Olmo has essentially played two full seasons now, and the results of the experiment aren’t exactly perfect: Olmo has certainly had spells of excellent play, and his ability to win duels in tight spaces as well as contribute with goals and assists have certainly given a boost to the Barça attack when he’s been at his best.
But there have also been plenty of missed games through injury and moments of inconsistency and poor final product, and there’s sometimes a feeling that something is missing with a player who has all the tools to be special.
So today’s Barca Blaugranes Question of the Day is:
Has Dani Olmo lived up to expectations at Barcelona?
Now it’s over to you! Feel free to share your thoughts, predictions, opinions and answers in the comments section below!
