Lennart Karl was born in Frammersbach, Bavaria. His entire career to date has taken place in Germany as he has risen to one of the biggest footballing talents of the country at Bayern Munich. Yet his dream club is not in Germany. In a meeting with Bayern’s fan club, the Germany U-21 international was asked if he had a dream club outside of Die Rekordmeister.
His answer was fairly decisive: “FC Bayern is a very big club. It’s a dream to play there,” Karl said, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, before dropping
the bombshell. “But at some point I definitely want to go to Real Madrid. I hope this will stay between us.”
Cameras were recording Karl’s words, so this very much did not stay secret. For those who have been following Karl for a while, his interest in the 15-time Champions League winners is unsurprising. He has been a fan for a while and was even heavily linked with leaving the Bavarians’ academy for Real Madrid for 18 months before signing his professional contract at Bayern in 2025. However, it perhaps dispels any dreams that Karl will follow in fellow academy player Thomas Müller’s footsteps and stay in Bavaria for the vast majority of his career.
Let’s see if Lennart Karl will one day fulfill this dream! 😮💨
