Jack Westover will be retained in Foxborough beyond the new league year.
The New England Patriots intend to tender the fullback for 2026, according to a report Monday from MassLive’s Mark Daniels.
Westover, 26, loomed an exclusive rights free agent with fewer than three accrued NFL seasons and an expiring contract. He is now slotted for a non-guaranteed salary of $1.075 million under the tender, per PatsCap’s Miguel Benzan.
Arriving at Gillette Stadium as a member of the practice squad in the fall of 2024,
Westover had spent his rookie training camp with the Seattle Seahawks before reaching an injury settlement. From there, the undrafted free agent out of the University of Washington twice served as a standard elevation before being added to the 53-man roster on the eve of the January finale. And there he remained as the calendar turned.
Switching from No. 87 to No. 37, the convert from tight end to fullback appeared in every game in 2025 for the reigning AFC champions. Up through Super Bowl LX against his previous team, Westover saw 317 snaps on offense and 238 snaps on special teams. He caught a pair of passes over that span and made four starts as a lead blocker.
In addition to Westover, running back Deneric Prince and defensive tackle Isaiah Iton also checked in as exclusive rights free agents for New England.
The NFL’s negotiating window opened Monday at 12 p.m. ET. The official start of unrestricted free agency will follow on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET.
