As the Chicago Bears prepare for their final regular season game of the season against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, the first official team injury reports for week 18 have been released.
The Bears had a walk-thru
practice on Wednesday, so player participation listed on the injury report is an estimation. Just two players were listed as DNP: DL Joe Tryon-Shoyinka (concussion) and WR Rome Odunze (foot).
Listed as limited were DB Josh Blackwell (shoulder), WR Luther Burden III (quad), DB Nick McCloud (illness), and OL Ozzy Trapilo (knee/quad). WR Olamide Zaccheaus (illness) was a full participant.
It’s not likely we’ll see Odunze until the playoffs, though that has seemed to be the case for a while now. Hopefully the flu bug that hit the team hard going into the game against San Francisco last week is starting to wrap up, with just Zaccheaus and McCloud listed as having illness. It’s also been a major positive to see that Burden’s injury was not as serious as originally thought at the end of Sunday’s game against San Francisco.
The Lions’ injury report was much more extensive, with eight players being listed as DNP. They were: LB Alex Anzalone (concussion), G Kayode Awoska (illness), OL Trystan Colon (wrist), S Thomas Harper (concussion), OL Christian Mahogany (illness), DL Alim McNeill (abodmen), T Penei Sewell (ankle), and WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (knee/ankle).
T Taylor Decker (shoulder/illness), DB Avonte Maddox (back/illness), and OL Giovanni Manu (knee).
The Bears take on the Lions this Sunday at Soldier Field in Chicago. The game takes place at 3:25 p.m. (Chicago time) and will be broadcast on FOX.
