The Kentucky Wildcats are still looking for their first commit in the class of 2026, as another recruit on the staff’s big board made their decision today.
Taking to CBS Sports to announce his commitment, 4-star center Josh Irving has decided to take his talents to College Station and the Texas A&M Aggies for his collegiate career. He chose the Aggies over a final three that also included Kentucky and Louisville.
Irving, a 6-10 and 200-pound center out of Pasadena (CA), officially visited Lexington
during Big Blue Madness a few weekends ago and announced he would be making his decision shortly after the end of that trip. Normally, that points to good news for the team that received the last visit.
In this one, it did not.
Best known as a rim runner and lob threat at the moment, Irving has an extremely high ceiling, especially as he learns to play through contact at the collegiate level. Now, Mark Pope and his staff will have to see him suit up for the Aggies next season.
Coach Pope and the staff are seemingly still in a great position in the class of 26 despite not having a commitment. They continue to trend for 5-star forward Tyran Stokes. While also looking like they could be one of the final schools on the list for Sayon Keita, out of Spain.
Still plenty of time to see the staff land that key recruit.
