Barcelona have agreed a deal to sign exciting teenage defender Patricio Pacifico from Defensor Sporting.
The 19-year-old will move initially on loan, but the transfer includes a buy option set at an initial €1.8 million, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer has been rumored for a few days but looks like being made official very shortly. Pacifico will then join up with Barcelona Atletic and could end up staying permanently if he can impress.
The deal looks like being one of several Barca Atletic hope to get over the line this winter in a bid to boost Juliano Belletti’s squad and add even more exciting talent to the club.
Barcelona are also being linked with moves for Norwich winger Ajay Tavares and Dutch defender Juwensley Onstein, while Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahly have confirmed that young striker Hamza Abdelkarim is set to join the club in the January transfer window.
