Football is in full swing now, but somehow the fall weather is lagging behind, by a lot. The college football season just wrapped up its official week two and the NFL is now fully underway after wrapping up a high scoring week one.
A few weeks ago we ran through the league to see where our former Rebs ended up after NFL cut day, now it’s time to check in and see how they fared in week one.
Evan Engram paced the Denver Broncos in receiving with 43 yards and a touchdown on four receptions against the Kansas
City Chiefs on Monday Night Football.
DK Metcalf also hauled in four catches for 40 yards on a team high 10 targets in the Steelers’ victory over Atlanta.
Tavious Robinson was a force for the Baltimore Ravens’ defense, finishing with three tackles, a sack and four QB hits. In the same game, Tahj Chambers registered his first NFL tackle for the Colts.
Princely Umanmielen had three tackles and a sack for the Carolina Panthers in their loss to Chicago.
After being cut by the Dallas Cowboys, Sam Williams signed with the Cleveland Browns. He had an immediate impact, finishing with four tackles on the game.
Tre Harris finished the game with three catches on six targets for just 20 yards.
Jaxson Dart was easily the Rebel of the week after a masterclass against the Dallas Cowboys. In his first opening game as the starter, Dart finished 23 for 29 passing for 230 yards and three touchdowns. He added 54 yards on the ground rushing while not turning the ball over once.
AJ Brown suited up for his new squad, but was injured early with a high ankle sprain. The New England Patriots have since placed him on the IR. De’Zhaun Stribling is also expected to miss his first month of action with an ankle injury of his own. Despite that injury and the absence of Brandon Aiyuk and Ricky Pearsall, Jordan Watkins was a healthy scratch and inactive for the 49ers.
