Who knows if Harry Kane would have joined Bayern Munich if Thomas Tuchel was not at the club?
Certainly, the former Chelsea FC manager had earned quite a reputation over in England through his Champions League win and general work with the Blues. And Kane did say Tuchel played a vital role in bringing him to the club (though, to be fair, many transferred players say the same about their manager).
Regardless of how much influence Tuchel had in bring Kane from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern, he helped to make
it happen and saw the Bavarians blessed with an utterly outstanding player, one who scored 73 goals in the 2025/26 season and is a current contender for the Ballon d’Or. Now Kane’s international coach instead of his club coach, his answer to whether Kane should win the Ballon d’Or this year should probably be no surprise:
“Yeah. After this season, yeah,” Tuchel answered plainly (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “70 plus goals. Three titles with Bayern Munich. Semifinals of the World Cup and Champions League, yeah.”
He may be biased, but nevertheless he makes some excellent arguments for Kane to win the award. Perhaps Tuchel isn’t that bad after all, eh?
