Najee Harris is set to start at running back for the New York Giants against the New Orleans Saints, per a report from Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
Harris takes over at starter for Cam Skattebo, who’s tied for the league lead in fumbles. Skattebo’s latest fumble very nearly cost the Giants last week’s game against the Washington Commanders.
There have been calls for adjustments to the Giants’ running game all week, and it seems that the Giants are making changes.
Fowler’s report builds on a report from Jordan
Raanan that the Giants are changing their running back rotation and that all four of their backs should be active.
Its unlikely that Skattebo is actually benched for the game. However it seems as though we’ll see a more active backfield rotation and even split of the snaps. Perhaps that will lead the Giants to be less predictable in their offense, or use concepts we haven’t seen much of lately.
This week’s game presents a significant opportunity for the Giants, and it will be interesting to see their plan to take advantage of it.
