Barcelona have sent support to manager Hansi Flick following news that his father has passed away.
The club issued a statement on social media to confirm the news ahead of Sunday’s La Liga match against Real Madrid at the Camp Nou.
“FC Barcelona and the entire blaugrana family wish to convey our affection to Hansi Flick for the death of his father,” read the statement.
“We share your pain and accompany him in this moment so difficult for him and his family.”
Flick is still expected to take charge of the team for tonight’s big game and there will reportedly be a minute’s silence before kick-off as a mark of respect.
Barcelona will be crowned champions on Sunday night if they avoid defeat to Real Madrid on what will undoubtedly be a difficult night for Flick given the sad circumstances.
Obviously we join Barcelona in sending our condolences and good wishes to the Flick family at this difficult time.
