A week after signing former Indianapolis Colts defensive back Kenny Moore to the practice squad, the Eagles are promoting the veteran to the active roster. The secondary had a really rough night against the Chicago Bears on Monday. The team is looking for some added depth and some other options as they look to bolster the safety position.
Moore has been linked to a role among the safeties, but his experience lends him more to the nickel position. This would of course then mean that Cooper DeJean would make a more permanent move to safety — something DC Vic Fangio said last week wasn’t their plan. Still, it’s hard to come away from the defense’s Week 3 performance and think there aren’t some major moves to make.
If nothing else, Moore will bring a veteran mindset to the position group, and try and find a way to get the best players on the field. The DB will have a chance to contribute on Sunday against the Rams, and get his first taste of Eagles football inside Lincoln Financial Field.
Moore is filling the roster spot the Eagles kept open over their last two games.
