Tom Bischof has hit the ground running at Bayern Munich. The 20-year-old is a regular part of the rotation under Vincent Kompany and impressing in his opportunities on the pitch, which already includes the occasional start in a veteran-laden Bayern Munich midfield.
And the young German international got a helping hand and a jolt of confidence from one of his new teammates.
“I was still at Hoffenheim, but my transfer had already been announced, when I received a message from Joshua Kimmich. He got my number
and simply texted me. He said that when he joined Bayern, he hadn’t played a single Bundesliga game yet — and yet he still believed he could make the move. And that he believed I could do it too. He said he was happy and believed in me. At that moment, I got goosebumps, having been given so much trust in advance,” Bischof revealed recently for club magazine Säbener 51, as captured by @iMiaSanMia.
Isn’t that heart-warming to see — the captain mentoring the highly-rated youngster. Bischof is arriving with a lot of expectation despite his age and is already reminding of Kimmich on the field.
