New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo remains day to day with a hamstring injury, and edge defender Abdul Carter is still sidelined by an illness. Neither player participated in practice Wednesday as the Giants prepared for Sunday’s gane against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Skattebo intentionally went to the ground when he felt a twinge in his hamstring at the end of a 42-yard run late in the Giants’ Week 7 victory over the Houston Texans.
Tyrone Tracy also suffered a hamstring injury in that game
that was severe enough to land him on injured reserve for at least four weeks.
Head coach John Harbaugh said “we’ll see” when asked on Wednesday if Skattebo would be able to play vs. Philadelphia.
Skattebo did work with a trainer during practice. If Skattebo cannot play, Devin Singletary would start with newly-acquired Gregory Desrosiers, making his NFL debut, as the primary backup. The Giants also have running backs Phil Mafah and Eric Gray on the practice squad.
As for Carter, Harbaugh said he “should be fine” by Sunday.
