
Meet the Mets
The Mets handled the Nationals easily in an 8-1 victory. David Peterson was the story of the game, going eight innings and striking out ten while only allowing one run. Ryne Stanek came in for the ninth and gave up only one hit in a scoreless inning to close the game easily. Mark Vientos hit a two run home run while Brett Baty, Juan Soto, and Jeff McNeil each hit solo home runs. Jeff McNeil had a great game, going three for four with a walk.

Today’s Mets game against the Nationals was the first to ever be managed by two Venezuelan managers.

Francisco Alvarez was placed on the 15 day injured list with a right thumb sprain. He will eventually need surgery, though the rest will determine if he can play through it for the rest of the year.
Hayden Senger was called up to replace Francisco Alvarez.

The Cardinals beat the Marlins 7-4. Edward Cabrera gave up six runs (four earned) on eleven hits. Thomas Saggese led the Cardinals with three hits.
The Phillies won a back-and-forth contest against the Mariners 6-4. J.T. Realmuto hit the go-ahead two run home run in the eighth inning that put the Phillies ahead for good.
The Braves out-clubbed the White Sox in an 11-10 victory. Michael Harris II and Jurickson Profar both hit a home run off starter Shane Smith.
