The Celtics are the best three point shooting team in the league, and the Spurs are one of the worst, especially recently. With Devin Vassell still out of the lineup with an adductor strain, and Julian Champagnie questionable with back soreness, the Spurs are going
to have to find ways to score in Boston, because it seems unlike they can hold the Celtics to a 90s (both the decade and the number) score like they did against the Lakers in their 107-91 win on Wednesday night. The Spurs have a rest advantage, with the Celtics defeating the Raptors last night 125-1127 in a game that was close until the final minute. Tonight is the first game of a back to back for the Spurs, as they travel to Minnesota for a 6:00 PM game against the Timberwolves.
Due to overwhelming demand from the peanut gallery at Pounding the Rock, Carter Bryant was sent to Austin yesterday where he played a game with the G-League affiliate, scoring 15 points in 28 minutes as the Austin Spurs overcame a 37 point outburst from Kobe Bufkin to beat the South Bay Lakers 111-99. CB11 is back in San Antonio tonight, and available to play, according the to the official injury report.
We’ve been seeing a bit of a Jeremy Sochan renaissance lately, and if he continues to get minutes, he could be a critical player on both ends for the Silver and Black. The biggest key to the Spurs being able to win tonight will be whether they can limit the scoring from Jaylen Brown and Derrick White, while improving from the abysmal shooting that has plagued the Spurs since the calendar flipped to 2026. Victor Wembanyama will be key tonight, and he might have to score 50 for a Spurs victory. I wouldn’t mind seeing that happen. GO SPURS GO!!
Game Prediction:
Jordan McLaughlin and Derrick White get into a tussle when Derrick keeps calling JMac mini-me whenever they’re matched up on each other.
