Unfortunately, the Braves placed Ozzie Albies on the Injured List. He is replaced as well as there is another round of bullpen hokey-pokey.
Ozzie Albies is placed on the 10-day Injured List, and I imagine could be placed on the 60-day Injured List as well. The newly acquired Brett Wisely joins the club. Wisely is a bit of a Swiss-army knife. He’s a middle infielder by trade, but could and has filled in anywhere but catcher. Joel Payamps was claimed by the Braves from Milwaukee yesterday. Today he has reported to Atlanta. Nathan Wiles is optioned to “Triple-A Gwinnett”, despite the Stripers being finished for the season.
The Braves already have Nick Allen, Vidal Brujan, and Luke Williams. All of them could deputize at second. So I don’t know if he will either see no playing time or go directly into the lineup. He is sporting a better hitting line than Nick Allen and has hit from the left side for a .250/.333/.375 line with a wRC+ of 103. Vidal Brujan is a switch hitter but doesn’t do it from either side very well. I guess we’ll find out tonight as the Nationals bring a righty to Truist.
