With Oregon’s season coming to a close on Friday night, now, new head coach Will Stein can focus on his full-time job of being the head coach of Kentucky Football, and that is what he did by securing a commitment in the trenches.
Former South Alabama defensive lineman Dominic Wiseman announced his commitment to Kentucky on Saturday, giving Stein his first transfer portal addition as the full-time head coach, according to Pete Nakos of On3.
Wiseman is listed at 6-foot-2 and 300 pounds, bringing size
and strength to Kentucky’s defensive front. He spent the 2025 season at South Alabama, appearing in 11 games for the Jaguars. During that season, Wiseman totaled 23 tackles, including three tackles for loss, one sack, and one forced fumble. He consistently rotated along the interior defensive line, providing depth and physicality in the Sun Belt.
Before arriving at South Alabama, Wiseman took an uncommon path to Division I football. He was unranked out of high school and began his college career at Iowa Western Community College, a junior college powerhouse known for developing under-the-radar prospects. His steady improvement there helped him earn a Division I opportunity, which he turned into a productive season in Mobile.
Now, Wiseman makes the jump to the SEC, where he’ll be counted on to add experience and muscle to Kentucky’s defensive line rotation. With his compact 300-pound frame and interior presence, he projects as a run-stopper who can occupy blockers and free up linebackers.
Wiseman becomes one of the first building blocks of Stein’s Kentucky era, which is a clear signal that the new staff is prioritizing size, toughness, and development in the trenches as the Wildcats reshape their roster through the transfer portal.
