Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are in win-now mode, and expectations are high entering the 2026 NFL season. On a squad expected to contend for a Super Bowl title, the impact that Buffalo’s 2026 NFL Draft class will have on the team’s championship aspirations is unknown, but president of football operations/general manager Brandon Beane and Buffalo’s front office used the draft to add players who they see making contributions in both the short- and long-term.
Today’s edition of Buffalo Rumblinks
leads off by examining the expectations for Buffalo’s 10-man rookie class this upcoming season, including fourth-round linebacker Kaleb Elarms-Orr, who has both impressed during the offseason workout programs and has an opportunity to contribute from the jump this year.
Let us know who you think will have the biggest impact this year in the comments section.
T.J. Parker leads rookies with potential to contribute right away
Of all of Buffalo’s rookies, edge rusher T.J. Parker (pictured below) would seem the most likely to have a clear chance at contributing to Jim Leonhard’s defense from day one. While the Bills brought in veteran edge rusher Bradley Chubb and bring back last year’s top sack-getter in Greg Rousseau, the team is going to rely on a stable of edge rushers to generate pressure on the quarterback, and Buffalo’s second-round selection has a shot at improving Buffalo’s pass rush right away. Parker is coming off a collegiate career at Clemson where he recorded 21.5 sacks in three seasons, including a career-high 11 sacks in 2024.
Among Buffalo’s other rookies, cornerback Davison Igbinosun will have a chance to battle last year’s first-round selection, Maxwell Hairston, to win the other boundary cornerback job opposite Christian Benford; linebacker Kaleb Elarms-Orr has enjoyed a solid showing to begin his Bills career and could wind up as the other starter opposite Terrel Bernard; Skyler Bell seems poised to exceed expectations as a catch-and-run specialist in an offense that could ramp up its productivity in the passing game; and punter Tommy Doman Jr. has the talent to unseat incumbent Mitch Wishnowsky and claim the #puntapalooza battle.
Speaking of positional battles, read about the competition to earn the starting left guard job between returner Alec Anderson and newcomer Austin Corbett; plus one outstanding question the Bills still need to answer as the team enjoys a break before starting training camp.
