One of the big things to happen at the end of the end of the Cincinnati Bengals loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars was what appeared to be a miscommunication between Joe Burrow and tight end Mike Gesicki on the final series of downs. Gesicki owned up to the mistake after the game:
“It was a play that, because of personnel shuffling, normally that’s Tee (Higgins) running that. So then, I went we moved to Tee’s spot. I felt the corner heavy inside. I’m supposed to cross his face. I didn’t. I learned that one
on the sideline. It just is what it is. There’s no excuse for things like that. I was just trying to make a play.”
Unfortunately, these are the kinds of things that can happen when you are shuffling so much due to injuries. It is bad enough to be without Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, but when they both go down in a game things can be hectic.

Postgame Quick Hits | Ja’Marr’s Injury, Jags Defense Beat Joe Burrow’s Big Passing Day
The Bengals may have an issue at wide receiver next week against the Miami Dolphins. We will have to see how Ja’Marr Chase progresses through concussion protocol over the week. We will also have to monitor an injury to Tee Higgins (adductor) as well. Burrow could be without his top two wide receivers on a week that seems crucial going into their Bye Week after.
Bengals Big Betting Favorites Against Dolphins in Latest AFC Battle During 2026 Season
Cincinnati opens as a full touchdown favorite on the road against Miami. That is pretty significant amount of points for a team to be spotted on the road. It really feels like the odds makers are expecting a bounce back game a la what college teams get.
Joe Burrow on lack of offensive balance: My response is “throw it more”
On a day when the running game clearly had issues and the team fell behind while also having troubles stopping the Jaguars, it made sense to let Burrow do his thing a bit more throwing the ball. Chase Brown also ended up with 11 receptions, and the team had several wide receiver screens to keep the defense on its toes.

The Los Angeles Chargers were expected to take a big step forward with McDaniel’s offense, but that hasn’t exactly transpired on their way to 0-4. This past week was their first time crossing 20 points in a game. Not a good look for the Justin Herbert truthers
Jets end 20-game interceptionless streak with Minkah Fitzpatrick’s pick vs. Bears
One of the crazier stats in the NFL was the Jets not having an interception since the 2024 season. Seems almost impossible with things like tipped balls and such. Yet here we are.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson exits win over Titans early due to ankle injury
Jackson left the stadium in a walking boot after the game. Things are sounding positive, but it is definitely worth monitoring as Baltimore goes as Jackson does.
