The TCU Horned Frogs are less than 10 days from kicking off the 2025 football season with a nonconference road matchup against the North Carolina Tar Heels and new head coach Bill Belichick. As we count down the days until kickoff, we’ll highlight a former (or current) Horned Frog whose jersey number represents the number of days left until the opener.

6 – Elisha Olabode (Defensive Back – 2010-13)
One of three true freshmen to see game action during TCU’s Rose Bowl season in 2010, Olabode played in 47
games over four seasons with the Horned Frogs. Olabode, who played cornerback before moving to safety later in his career, compiled 152 total tackles and five tackles for loss while adding 24 pass breakups, five interceptions, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. An All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2012, Olabode started at safety over the 2012 and 2013 seasons, snagging all five of his career interceptions over that span.
A native of Cedar Hill, Texas, Olabode went into coaching after his collegiate career ended, joining the staff at Texas A&M-Commerce (now East Texas A&M University). As a member of the staff, Olabode helped guide the Lions to the 2017 NCAA Division II National Championship, where the program beat the West Florida Argonauts 37-27. Olabode worked on the staff in 2017 and 2018, serving as a cornerbacks coach, safeties coach and community service director.
