With Mohamed Salah leaving Liverpool in the summer, there will be a massive gap in the squad to fill and a lot of lost goals and assists needing to be replaced. The question now is who the club bring in to replace their departing legend.
According to a report from DaveOCKOP, at least, the Reds are highly interested in the services of West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen.
As he points out in the report, Liverpool have had previous interest in Bowen, dating back to the 22/23 season. Bowen signed a new
contract with West Ham that season.
West Ham are in a relegation battle, and should they go down, Liverpool could score a bargain-bin deal for the Hammers captain. However, DaveOCKOP’s report states that if West Ham stays up, a deal would still be possible.
Bowen is 30 years old and still performing at a decent level, with 8 goals and 8 assists in 32 Premier League appearances this season. Liverpool are historically wary of signing ageing players, but their reported interest suggests to me that they believe a really great bargain may be available. This rumour also seems to fit with Liverpool’s other attacker rumours like Yan Diomande, suggesting they may complement an injection of youth with a vet like Jarrod Bowen.
