After three years outside the UFC fighting nonsensical influencer fights, Darren Till is finally building some momentum. He knocked Luke Rockhold out in the main event of Misfits X Series 22, slumping the former UFC middleweight champion onto the ropes in a viral finish.
Now he’s got some excitement surrounding his name again, and he’s using it to try and secure a fight against accused sex trafficker, rapist, and occasional kickboxer Andrew Tate.
“I think all parties [want it],” Till said on the Ariel
Helwani Show. “I think Andrew Tate is definitely interested, or he wouldn’t have tweeted me back. Misfits are interested, my management are interested, his manager is potentially.”
“It’s looking like a fight that’s going to be made before the end of the year in a great location, and obviously, he’s in my eyes one of the most famous people in the world. Certainly the most Googled and stuff like that. It’s huge, it’s life-changing. The money is right. you fight Andrew Tate, you don’t have to think about working again. Obviously, the money is tasty for him as well. I’d say at the moment [it’s] a 75% made fight.”
Helwani confirmed that multiple sources were telling him the same thing regarding the status of negotiations while saying he was shocked Tate, whose kickboxing record is padded with inexperienced tomato cans, would accept a fight against Till.
“I don’t go around calling myself the ‘Top G,'” Till replied. “I don’t try to belittle women for my own ego. I have four daughters and a beautiful girlfriend. I’m girl power. If you’re gonna go around referring to yourself as ‘the Top G,’ you’re gonna have to come prove it.”
Tate has responded to all of Till’s talk, seemingly asking the fiery Liverpudian for a civilized build-up to a fight.
“Darren I think you’re hilarious,” Tate wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Always enjoyed your antics and humor. Also seen your career and respect it, you’re well liked in my circles. The fight would be great! I understand fighting me is life changing money for you (not me). But there’s no need for name calling.”
“I really don’t like all that clown s— and being rude etc we’re both professionals here. I find it rude and if that’s the way you’re trying to get the fight it won’t happen. I’m the superstar here. Talk nicely and I’ll reply to your team’s desperate messages.”
If not being rude is one of the prerequisites for this fight happening, we doubt this fight survives the first press conference with Till.
