Former UFC middleweight champion, Khamzat Chimaev, wants to put his weight class change on hold and book an immediate rematch against current division titleholder, Sean Strickland, after losing to “Tarzan” atop the UFC 328 fight card earlier this year in Newark.
Sounds like the 32-year-old “Borz” is running out of patience.
Strickland, 35, is still recovering from a serious shoulder injury and may not be available until the
end of the year.
Before he returns to the Octagon, Chimaev will get back onto the wrestling mats for Real American Freestyle (RAF), taking on former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley on Sept. 5 in Moscow. “Borz” last competed for RAF back in June, pinning Dillon Danis in St. Louis. As for Woodley, he’s expected to make his RAF debut against UFC welterweight Joaquin Buckley at RAF 12 this weekend in Cleveland.
