Bayern Munich has finally announced the signing of Senegalese midfield talent Bara Sapoko Ndiaye. Now, the transfer fee for the 18-year-old has been revealed: €3.5M, according to Transfermarkt.
Ndiaye arrived in Bavaria for the second half of last season via a loan from Red&Gold partnership club Gambinos Stars. He impressed Vincent Kompany quickly enough to earn four senior team appearances in that time, including two Bundesliga starts. And then he impressed at Senegal’s pre-World Cup camp enough to be
a surprise inclusion for the summer tournament, where he made his debut on football’s biggest stage.
This is the kind of transfer business you love to see for Bayern. A precocious youngster with clear potential and a rocketing upward trajectory, stepping into a situation where developmental playing time should continue to be readily available. Ndiaye has already had his integration period at the club, and he is the summer addition in a central midfield that has seen the departure of veteran Leon Goretzka.
Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlović, and Tom Bischof should see the lion’s share of minutes, but Ndiaye is just about the next name on the list (fresh arrival left-back Nathaniel Brown could also be a rotational option). It is just the latest opportunity for the talented youngster to seize the moment faster than anyone could expect.
