The international break has finally loosened its grip on Bayern Munich, with more of Vincent Kompany’s squad returning to Säbener Straße ahead of the resumption of club football, per @iMiaSanMia.
The German internationals who were part of the second squad have returned to training today, giving Kompany another group of players to work with as Bayern begins preparations for the next stretch of the season. Dayot Upamecano and Konrad Laimer have also rejoined their teammates after their respective international commitments.
This is an important step forward for Bayern Munich, which has had to operate with a heavily depleted squad during the break. While international duty is usually a positive experience for players, it also leaves club coaches with limited opportunities to work on tactics, rotations, and the small details that can make a difference once competitive matches return.
There is still one final wave of players to come back.
Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Josip Stanišić, Kim Min-jae, and Hiroki Itō are all expected to return to Säbener Straße tomorrow. Once that group arrives, Kompany should finally have the majority of his senior squad back together.
The timing is particularly useful given how demanding the schedule is about to become. Bayern will need to balance Bundesliga commitments with Champions League and DFB-Pokal responsibilities, making squad depth and rotation increasingly important.
Kompany has already shown a willingness to trust different players throughout the opening weeks of the season, and having everyone back should give him even more options. The return of Kane and Olise, in particular, will be closely watched after both played important roles for their national teams.
For Bayern Munich, the international break is almost over. Now comes the part that matters most — getting everyone back on the same page, keeping the squad healthy, and making sure the momentum built before the break does not disappear.
