Not too bad for a second-round pick.
I think we always knew what Ayo Dosunmu was capable of. Clearly, the Minnesota Timberwolves do, too.
ESPN reported Monday night that Ayo will stick around the Twin Cities for the foreseeable future after inking a five-year, $112 million contract. It includes a player option on the fifth season.
Minnesota acquired Ayo at the trade deadline in February. He ended up becoming one of their best players alongside Anthony Edwards, and lifted them to massive moments in the postseason.
While there were some rumblings about Dosunmu returning to the Bulls this offseason, I think Minnesota is a great place for him to continue to grow, have a shot at a ring, and make some life-changing money.
To the guy who brought Illinois Basketball back to relevance, congrats, Ayo!
