Robert Lewandowski confirmed he was leaving Barcelona ahead of Sunday’s La Liga win over Real Betis at Camp Nou and enjoyed an emotional farewell after the game.
The veteran’s team-mates have been quick to pay tribute to the 37-year-old and tell the world how he’s been a huge asset in the dressing room over the last four years.
Lewandowski has also had a parting message to the squad after Barcelona’s final training session before the game against Betis, according to Cadena Ser.
A very emotional Lewandowski
told his team-mates he was prdou of their work they had done and the legacy he leaves at Camp Nou. He also added: “You are ready to win the Champions League.”
There were plenty of hugs and affection afterwards, with Ronald Araujo and Hansi Flick reportedly giving a speech to thank Lewandowski on behalf of the whole team.
Lewandowski won the Champions League with Bayern but sadly didn’t manage to get his hands on the European Cup as a Barcelona player.
After quarter-final and semi-final exits under Hansi Flick, the coach has admitted this season that it’s his dream to win the Champions League during his time at the club.
