Ever since the Young Bucks lost their EVP privileges in AEW, they’ve been struggling with cash. Hard times brought back the return of Being The Elite for a little extra juice in ad revenue. The Young Bucks know how to create drama, so what better way to keep viewers coming back than a mystery cliffhanger. This one doesn’t appear to be that complicated to crack. It’s tied to something Matt & Nick Jackson started teasing in one of the first videos they’d posted to the BTE YouTube channel in a year.
But it is intriguing nonetheless.
The majority of BTE revolved around winning $500,000 in one of Tony Khan’s patented money matches. They apologized to Brandon Cutler so he would film them at the casino. Nick Jackson lost most of their prize on slots. The final scene was the money shot.
Matt Jackson was at home opening a package. First, he pulled out a knife. Then, he pulled out a note that read, “For the next time you want to stab me in the back.” That was the cliffhanger. Who could have threatened those good Christian boys?
Signs sure point to Jack Perry.
For regular readers of Tweets of the Week right here on Cageside Seats (shameless self-plug) or followers of Perry on Instagram, they will have noticed his new hobby of forging steel to create knives. The knife in BTE looks very similar to the last knife Perry posted on his feed.
Internet detectives with bionic eyes zoomed in on Perry’s notebook to see the reminder to, “Call Bucks.” That played out in a previous episode of BTE when the Jacksons ignored Perry’s call.
