After falling behind 29-10 to Clemson, Florida State scored two touchdowns to cut the lead to 29-24 with just over 5 minutes left. The Seminole defense then held the Tigers on their first two downs until a defensive collapse allowed the Clemson QB to score on a 79-yard run on 3rd and 12, going up 2 scores, eliminating any chance for an FSU comeback, and effectively ending Mike Norvell’s 7-year tenure as the Noles head coach.
Anyway, moving on, here is how the snaps were distributed in Saturday’s loss.
As FSU heads to the northeast for its next two games, do these numbers tell us anything about how the snaps are being distributed? With 3/4 of the 2026 season already in the books, is there anything that stands out to you with just 3 ACC games and the Gators remaining for a Black Friday showdown?
Here is how the 79 defensive snaps were distributed along with a couple of quick observations:
A) After playing almost full-time in the first 7 games, Ja’Bril Rawls only saw the field for 34 plays against Clemson.
2) Freshman Cam Brooks saw his first action of the year for 6 plays along the defensive line.
And here’s how the 68 offensive snaps were distributed, along with a couple of quick observations.
A) Amari Thomas saw significant action in a role he will have to perform for the remainder of the season with Kromah out.
2) Freshman Devin Carter finally saw his first action of the season, albeit for only 3 plays.
D) With Duce Robinson out for the season, it was good to see Jasen Lopez play for 2/3 of the offensive snaps.
