Bayern Munich heads into Sunday’s trip to SV Elversberg looking to build on Thursday’s emphatic 5-0 Champions League victory over Bodø/Glimt. The Bundesliga champions dropped points in a frustrating 0-0 draw against Schalke last weekend, while Elversberg has won both of its opening league matches. That makes this a fascinating opportunity for several Bayern Munich players to make their mark.
Harry Kane immediately stands out as a candidate. The England captain scored against Bodø/Glimt and continues
to be the focal point of Bayern Munich’s attack. If Elversberg gives him opportunities in the box, Kane could easily add to his already impressive scoring numbers.
Michael Olise is another obvious choice after his two-goal performance in the Champions League. His creativity, technical quality, and ability to create chances from the right side could cause serious problems for Elversberg.
Luis Díaz will also be looking to make an impact, particularly with his pace and ability to attack defenders one-on-one. Joshua Kimmich could control the game from midfield, while Aleksandar Pavlović has another opportunity to demonstrate why Bayern Munich has so much faith in his development.
There are also some intriguing possibilities elsewhere. Nathaniel Brown (or Alphonso Davies) could provide plenty of energy from left-back, while Ismael Saibari could take advantage of another opportunity to show his versatility in the attacking midfield positions. And then there is Lennart Karl, whose emergence has given Bayern Munich another exciting young attacking option.
Clearly, there is no shortage of candidates.
