Katie Taylor, 39, a unified super lightweight world champion has the finish line in her sights as he looks to end her career in 2026. Taylor says she wants to have one more fight at Dublin’s Croke Park in a farewell outing in front of her home fans before retiring, although an opponent or date hasn’t been set just yet.
“Fighting my last fight in our most iconic arena, how special would that be? I think it would be absolutely remarkable if I was able to do that. I’m not sure if it is going to happen
or not. Either way, I’ll be ending my career here and I’m very, very excited about that.”
Taylor (25-1, 6 KOs) is most recently coming off a third fight against Amanda Serrano last July, having won all three of those matchups by decision and her only blemish was a 2023 loss to Chantel Cameron — a loss she would later avenge before the end of that year.
With an impending retirement Taylor will leave the sport and one of the most accomplished female fighters out there, having gone undisputed in two separate weight classes. We’ll provide more information and details regarding Taylor’s last planned fight as it becomes available.
