The Kansas football team has apparently not seen the memo that it’s basketball season, and will travel to Arizona (where to be fair, it’s also basketball season) to take on the Wildcats. The Jayhawks need
one more win in their final three games to clinch a trip to someplace really really cool, like, um, Shreveport.
Kansas is 3-2-1 all-time vs Arizona; this is the first matchup between the two programs as conference foes. They have not met since 1966, a 35-13 KU win in Tucson.
The Numbers
Arizona: 5-3, 2-3 B12

Fun Facts
KU is looking to become bowl-eligible for the third time in four years, a feat that has only been accomplished once before in program history (2005-09).
KU kicker Laith Marjan has been perfect this season, going 12-12 on field goals, half of which have been from 40+ yards. This streak has set a KU record for consecutively made field goals.
During the win against Oklahoma State last week, Jalon Daniels became the second player in program history to go over 10,000 yards of total offense.
Not even a half-hearted pregame analysis
Last week I commented that we would learn a lot about KU and how they handled Oklahoma State. I figured we’d see one of two things – KU would dominate from the opening whistle, or come out sluggish and struggle to put the Cowboys away. Of course, neither really happened. KU did struggle to open the game, but ended up winning fairly convincingly.
So, I’m not sure we learned anything. KU has three chances left to make a bowl. A win in any of their final games would be an upset.
Holding Arizona’s offense under 40 points would probably be an upset – and is the only way KU will have a chance to win this one. Oklahoma State moved the ball up and down the field, they just couldn’t finish drives. Can KU keep up? Tune in to find out – if you dare.
