What is the story about?
Entering a game against a team with a future Hall of Fame quarterback in Matthew Stafford and two superstar wide receivers in Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, the last thing the New York Giants need are injury issues at cornerback.
That, though, appears to be what they have.
Three of the Giants’ top four cornerbacks appeared on the team’s Thursday injury report, the first of the week in advance of Monday’s game against the Los Angeles.
- Paulson Adebo missed practice with a knee injury. Adebo played sparingly in Week 1 as Deonte Banks and Greg Newsome started.
- Banks was a limited practice participant with a calf issue. Banks was in and out of Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys with what was said to be cramping.
- Newsome was a limited participant with a rib injury.
Others on the injury report were:
- Defensive lineman Chauncey Golston was limited with a neck issue.
- Guard Francis Mauigoa was limited with a shoulder injury.
- Inside linebacker Micah McFadden was limited with a neck injury.
- Left tackle Andrew Thomas was limited with an ankle injury.
Wide receiver Malik Nabers, who played
his first game last Sunday since tearing his ACL in Week 4 of the 2025 season, is not on the injury report.
