For anyone who has lamented how quickly some players have been rushed back to the field at Bayern Munich this season after injuries, this will not make you feel much better.
After a long recovery and rehab from an ACL injury, Alphonso Davies ramped his way back into the rotation for Bayern Munich and looked mostly like a player feeling his way through how to play after such a devastating ailment.
However, it did not take that long for Davies to get injured again — this time, felled by a hamstring issue
that forced him to leave Bayern Munich’s game against Eintracht Frankfurt at halftime last Saturday.
Now, Davies is already back on the pitch per Tz’s Philipp Kessler:
With Davies and Jamal Musiala both not looking like themselves and Joshua Kimmich not the same after his ankle injury in November, it is fair to ask if — maybe — the club needs a more conservative approach to players coming back.
Pavlović, Olise on different training track this week
Tz’s Philipp Kessler (via @iMiaSanMia) also reported that Aleksandar Pavlović and Michael Olise training individually on Wednesday (after missing Tuesday’s team training), while the rest of the team had a day off:
After they missed yesterday’s training as a load management measure, Michael Olise and Aleks Pavlović completed a 30-minute individual session on the team’s day off today (light jogging, short passing drills, sprints and runs through slalom cones). Both players are carrying knocks, but there’s no mention of an injury.
On Thursday, Pavlovic trained with the team again, but there was no word on Olise.
Itō, Kim leave training with injuries
Hiroki Itō and Kim Min-jae both left training with injuries per Tz’s Philipp Kessler:
As tz learned, Hiroki Ito and Minjae Kim had to leave team training on Thursday afternoon due to injuries. The Japanese player has muscular problems, while the South Korean is suffering from knee pain. Precise diagnoses are still pending. Both are scheduled to undergo further examinations on Friday.
Depending on what you believe, Manuel Neuer might or might not have had to stop training as well.
