As expected, the Cincinnati Bengals held Ja’Marr Chase out of Wednesday’s practice following an injury to his left knee on Tuesday.
When practice began Wednesday, Chase was seen on the sideline wearing street clothes before heading back inside, presumably for treatment.
Chase came down awkwardly in Tuesday’s session and had to be examined by trainers before eventually walking off, as he spent the rest of practice on the sideline without a limp. He later said the injury was just a “little hyperextension.”
The Bengals are already holding their starters out of Friday’s preseason finale vs. the Philadelphia Eagles, while there’s over two weeks remaining until the regular-season opener vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
For now, it does not appear Chase is in danger of missing the opener, but we’ll have to see how treatment goes and how much swelling there is in the injured knee before a final determination is made.
