Since turning pro in 2020, Paxten Aaronson has been one of the more intriguing prospects in the USMNT player pool. After breaking through with the Philadelphia Union, Aaronson started gaining the attention of clubs in Europe and ultimately moved to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023.
The German club elected to loan out Aaronson and he’s played for Vitesse and Utrecht in Holland. He had been the subject of further loan rumors in Europe, but it appears his next stop will be back in the United States. According
to reports, Aaronson is set to join the Colorado Rapids on an $8 million transfer fee so he can be closer to family and have stability.
Aaronson is just 21 years-old and the move will make him a central part of Colorado’s lineup. Currently, the team is sitting in 7th place in the Western Conference and is looking for a boost to push for a playoff spot. The Rapids have 36 goals on the season, ranking 8th out of 15 clubs in the conference, and a creative and versatile attacker brings a greater goal threat as they compete for a post-season run.
