The Golden State Warriors will close out the calendar year with an early Wednesday morning matchup against the Charlotte Hornets. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 AM PT in Charlotte and can be watched on
NBA TV and NBC Sports Bay Area.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State bounced back from its first loss of this road trip with a 120–107 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night. The game remained close for much of the evening, but a strong fourth quarter — in which the Warriors outscored Brooklyn 31–22 — sealed the victory.
Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler led the way offensively, but it was the bench that proved to be the difference. Rookie Will Richard and veteran wing De’Anthony Melton delivered clutch performances down the stretch, finishing with team-high plus-minus marks of +22 and +26, respectively, to help secure the win.
What to watch for tonight:
The Warriors will look to finish 2025 with a bang as they take on the Hornets on Wednesday morning. Charlotte enters the matchup with an 11–21 record as they continue to build around a young core led by All-Star point guard LaMelo Ball, who is averaging 20.0 points per game this season.
Not far behind him is his backcourt partner, rookie guard Kon Knueppel, who currently ranks third on the team in scoring. Knueppel’s 19.3 points per game is the second-highest average among rookies this season, while his 113 made three-pointers rank third in the NBA — trailing only Curry (114) and Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell (153). Although he missed Charlotte’s last game against the Milwaukee Bucks with an ankle injury, Knueppel is listed as probable for Wednesday’s matchup and should be a focal point of Golden State’s defensive game plan.
For the Warriors, some consistency appears to be forming within the rotation. However, one notable absence from head coach Steve Kerr’s rotation continues to be Jonathan Kuminga. He has now sat out the team’s last five games and is expected to remain sidelined as trade speculation continues to build ahead of his January 15 trade eligibility date.
