Hey, all!
While Detroit Lions organized team activities (OTAs) begin later this week, I wanted to pause our team coverage for a day to just take a step back and have a non-sports related Question of the Day.
It’s Memorial Day, and whether you’re living in the United States or elsewhere, or come from a military family or not, it’s worth taking a moment to consider and honor the people who are risking quite literally everything. And of course, remembering those who have given their lives to their country.
Honoring those people can come in several different ways, and that’s what I’m hoping you’ll share with us on this Monday.
Share you Memorial Day weekend plans
My answer: Admittedly, I don’t have much of a connection to the military. You’d have to go back a few generations in my immediate family to find those who have served. So, to be honest, I don’t have direct plans to serve those who serve.
That said, I am taking the extended weekend to recharge and relax, and throughout the weekend, I’ll remember that neither of those things would be possible without the sacrifice of others. I played a couple of excellent rounds of disc golf in some of Michigan’s lovely parks that are upheld by devoted workers in this government. And I had a wonderful dinner with the Schlitt’s, as well.
Monday, I’ll likely take advantage of some fantastic Michigan weather, spend some moments for reflection, and get ready for another week of Lions coverage—including our first look at the 2026 squad during one open practice of OTAs.
Let’s hear about your extended weekend.
