San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama was ejected from Game 4 of the Spurs’ second-round NBA Playoffs series against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday. Wembanyama got tossed early in the second quarter for throwing an elbow at Minnesota center Naz Reid after a lock-up while chasing a rebound. Wembanyama’s swing was clearly targeted, retaliation for physical contact in the scrum.
The Spurs would go on to lose the game 109-114, allowing the Timberwolves to even the series at 2-2.
Today news came
down from the NBA that the in-game ejection would be the only punishment for Wembanyama. He will not face further fines or suspensions and will be available to play in Game 5 of the series on Tuesday. Shams Charania of ESPN reported the news.
