According to a report from The Sun, Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has sold his house in Cheshire for a cool £3,450,000 (€3,967,068):
MANCHESTER City legend Vincent Kompany looks set to stay in Germany after selling his stunning family home in leafy Cheshire for £3,450,000.
Last year it was reported he slashed the asking price by £300,000 down to £3.65M as footballers in Cheshire’s ‘Golden Triangle’ – the affluent towns of Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and Prestbury and surrounding areas – struggled
to sell their homes.
A property source said: “Very little is selling at that end of the market. It’s a lovely house in a good area down a little narrow road you wouldn’t even know was there. I would think the buyer has agreed £250,000 off the asking price. Asking prices at the lower end have increased 20 per cent in a year but not much is selling.”
Kompany’s old crib was a six-bedroom home featuring and indoor swimming pool, a game/media room and a gym. There were also six bathrooms, multiple stone fireplaces, and a handcrafted kitchen. Finally, there was an outdoor mini-pitch as well.
The property listing described the home this way:
Springwood is an impressive Arts and Crafts–style residence offering extensive accommodation in a private and mature setting.
Completed in 2009, the property successfully combines traditional architectural detailing with contemporary design, providing approximately 7,600 sq ft of accommodation arranged over four floors and set within about 0.70 acre of landscaped gardens.
The exterior features decorative stonework, traditional brick elevations, hardwood windows and a slate roof. Internally, the house offers high ceilings, deep skirting boards, bespoke stone fireplaces and a handcrafted kitchen.
The property is entered via oversized double doors into a striking reception hall with floor-to-ceiling glazing and a split-level American walnut staircase.
A formal drawing room with bay window lies to the front, while to the rear is the principal living space incorporating an open-plan kitchen, dining area and day room.
French doors and a Juliet balcony provide access to an upper terrace overlooking the gardens. A large utility room connects directly to the garage and side entrance.
The lower ground floor is naturally well lit and includes a substantial games and media room with fully fitted bar and bi-fold doors opening onto a sun terrace, along with a study.
The leisure suite comprises a 10m x 4m indoor swimming pool, gymnasium, sauna, changing facilities and shower, creating a private spa environment.
The first floor features a generous principal bedroom suite with dressing room and en-suite bathroom, together with three further en-suite double bedrooms. The second floor provides two additional double bedrooms and a family bathroom.
Outside, the gardens are landscaped and offer a high degree of privacy, with lawns, mature planting and woodland beyond. A play area includes a mini football pitch and basketball court.
If you want to see pics check out the house, the listing has already been taken down, but the link to article from The Sun does have pics.
Not bad work for the former Manchester City defender.
