The Chargers have begun Week 16 of the NFL season with a larger-than-ideal injury report that features 12 players.
Fortunately, two of them are simple veteran rest days with edge rusher Khalil Mack and wideout Keenan Allen.
The actual players who sat out Wednesday’s practice due to injuries were safety R.J. Mickens (shoulder) and returner Derius Davis. Jim Harbaugh said Mickens could potentially miss some time with the injury.
Edge rusher Bud Dupree (back), wideouts Tre’ Harris (hip) and Quentin Johnston
(groin), safety Elijah Molden (hamstring), offensive lineman Trey Pipkins (ankle), and defensive tackle Teair Tart (shin) were all limited on Wednesday.
Linebacker Troy Dye (hip) and quarterback Justin Herbert (left hand) were both full participants at practice. This is the first practice since Herbert had surgery on his hand that he has been listed as a full participant. He spent the previous six practices with a limited tag.
