What is the story about?
Washington Wizards forward Kyshawn George committed to play for Canada during this summer’s World Cup qualifying games, the team announced Tuesday.
George will play three contests with Canada, starting July 3 in Hamilton, Onatrio.
July 3: vs. Puerto Rico
July 6: vs. Jamaica
August 31: Opponent TBD
This won’t be George’s first stint with the Canadian National Team.
Washington’s standout wing played six games at last summer’s AmeriCup tournament, where he averaged 13.5 points and 4.2 rebounds while shooting
an impressive 46.2% from 3-point range.
Fellow NBA players who will join George in Ontario include: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, RJ Barrett, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Dillon Brooks, Ryan Nembhard and Andrew Nembhard.
