The year is wrapping up, and that means it is award season. TNA put together categories and nominations for fans to vote. They did a pretty good overall, however, one major moment is missing.
When I think
about the year that was for TNA in 2025, one moment stands above the rest. I’m talking about Mike Santana winning the TNA World Championship from Trick Williams at Bound For Glory. The match was the culmination of a long storyline, and it was capped off with an emotional edge as Santana shared the success with his daughter.
Unfortunately, that moment didn’t make the list for voting.
Moment of the Year
- AJ Styles returning to TNA Wrestling (Slammiversary)
- Joe Hendry wins TNA World Championship (Genesis)
- Hardys vs. Team 3D in One Final Table (Bound For Glory)
- Leon Slater’s Swanton 450 off the Ultimate X (Rebellion)
Those are all great choices. I’m leaning toward the Hardys versus Team 3D. The atmosphere was electric, and the legends match delivered satisfaction.
Wrestler of the Year
- Mustafa Ali
- Moose
- Mike Santana
- Joe Hendry
Santana is not listed for Moment of the Year, but I suspect he will take home the trophy for Wrestler of Year. Hendry carried TNA early, then the focus was put on Santana in his quest to become world champion and bring the gold home from the clutches of NXT. Santana’s title run turned out to be a fugazi by losing it quickly due to an NXT ambush, however, he’s still in the spotlight in position to chase the prize again.
X-Division Star of the Year
- Myron Reed
- Leon Slater
- Moose
- Cedric Alexander
I’m surprised Slater is not on the list for Wrestler of the Year. He has been spectacular. Easy pick here for Slater in the X-Division.
Finishing Move of the Year
- Swanton 450 by Leon Slater
- Spin the Block by Mike Santana
- Trick Shot by Trick Williams
Another easy pick for Slater. If you’ve never seen the Swanton 450, here is a compilation video.
Match of the Year
- Mike Santana vs. AJ Francis in a Street Fight (Impact – Jun. 26)
- Jordynne Grace vs. Tessa Blanchard (Genesis)
- Je’Von Evans vs. Leon Slater (Bound For Glory)
- Mike Santana vs. Mustafa Ali in Falls Count Anywhere (Rebellion)
- Moose vs. Leon Slater (Slammiversary)
- Mance Warner vs. Sami Callihan in Barbed Wire Massacre (Unbreakable)
- Hardys vs. Team 3D (Bound For Glory)
- Spitfire vs. Elegance Brand (Under Siege)
- Leon Slater vs. Myron Reed (Victory Road)
- Steve Maclin vs. Frankie Kazarian (Bound For Glory)
Tough winner to predict here with several excellent options. My vote would go to Slater for yet another award. I suspect Slater versus Evans will get more buzz, but that finish was terrible with DarkState ruining the match. Slater versus Reed is my choice. Slater and Reed were thrust into the main event for the first time, and they exceeded expectations.
Knockout of the Year
- Ash by Elegance
- Tessa Blanchard
- Kelani Jordan
- Lei Ying Lee
Knockout of the Year is missing Masha Slamovich due being accused of domestic violence. For that reason, it is understandable why TNA removed her from the running. Without Slamovich, that is a watered down crop. Ash and Lee both won the Knockouts Championship, but they haven’t had time to develop their reign. Ash retired unexpectedly due to medical issues. Lee is less than one month into holding the title. Jacy Jayne would be a good pick for having the biggest moment with a surprising title win, but she’s not on the nomination list. I guess I would go with Ash for overall assets as Knockout champion, tag team champion, and a mentor to the Elegance Brand.
Tag Team of the Year
- Nemeths (Nic Nemeth & Ryan Nemeth)
- Hardys (Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy)
- Great Hands (John Skyler & Jason Hotch)
- Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz)
Easy pick for the Hardys, who have carried the tag title for most of the year. They also went into NXT to capture those tag titles as well.
Knockouts Tag Team of the Year
- IInspiration (Jessie McKay & Cassie Lee)
- Elegance Brand (Ash, Heather & M)
- Spitfire (Jody Threat & Dani Luna)
- Angel Warriors (Xia Brookside & Lei Ying Lee)
The IInspiration are the most iconic duo of the bunch.
Crossover Moment of the Year
- Trick Williams wins TNA World Championship (WWE Battleground)
- NXT vs. TNA Showdown (WWE NXT – Oct. 7)
- Nemeths, Moose, & Joe Hendry at AAA Triplemania
Trick Willy winning the TNA World Championship sent shockwaves through the company as a focal point of storylines.
Fan voting is through the X platform. TNA will count the replies and quotes to determine the winner, such as on the Moment of the Year post below. The results will be revealed on the December 25 episode of Impact.
