2026 NFL draft: Latest intel, questions for 32 teams’ picks | ESPN
Kansas City Chiefs
Picks: Nos. 9, 29, 40, 74, 109, 148, 169, 176, 210
What is the most likely position focus for the Chiefs at No. 9?
Coach Andy Reid and general manager Brett Veach should concentrate on adding to the Chiefs’ pass rush. Right now, the Chiefs don’t have a starter on the edge opposite George Karlaftis. By targeting one of the top defensive linemen, the Chiefs could help take the burden off defensive tackle Chris Jones,

What we’re hearing about the Chiefs’ draft: In talking to sources both in Kansas City and around the league, there seems to be no strong indicator of where the Chiefs will go with either of their first-round picks. The Chiefs will see how the board falls and have needs at core positions such as offensive tackle, wide receiver, edge rusher, defensive tackle and cornerback. A hot name to watch at corner is Jermod McCoy (Tennessee) … if he makes it to No. 9. — Miller
Fans mourn the passing of editor of popular website dedicated to the Chiefs | The Kansas City Star
Chiefs Kingdom is a tight-knit community, and fans were in mourning after learning of the death of Arrowhead Pride managing editor John Dixon. Dixon had written for Arrowhead Pride, a site dedicated to the Chiefs, shortly after its inception and took over as the boss when The Star hired Pete Sweeney as Chiefs Insider.
An obituary said Dixon died Wednesday at age 68 after battling cancer. A visitation is planned for Tuesday (6 p.m. to 8 p.m.) with a Celebration of Life to take place Wednesday at 2 p.m. Both will be at Newcomer’s White Chapel, 6600 NE Antioch Road in Gladstone.
“As a gifted journalist and avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, John covered the team for broadcast and online channels across three decades,” the obituary noted. “Most recently, he proudly served as the Managing Editor for Arrowhead Pride, a nationally recognized online publication dedicated to the Chiefs. John was one of the first Chiefs fans to contribute to Arrowhead Pride when it launched, cementing his journeyman story within an organization he cared so much about.”
Fans shared their remembrances on the Arrowhead Pride website and on social media. Here is a bit of what they were saying.
“John Dixon was so good at what he did, and everyone I’ve ever read has nothing but good to say about him,” one person wrote. “Would that we could all say as much when the end comes.”
“His patience with others, even on the internet, was a model we can all learn from,” a fan wrote on Arrowhead Pride. “I’m sure I’m not the only one who would be a better person by following the examples of John. “Next time I’m about to fire off a snarky reply, I will remember John and I will cool it down a notch. You will be missed by people who never even met you, John Dixon.”
Another shared this: “Such a wonderful, kind guy. Sending love and prayers to his family.”
Giants trade rumor could lead to draft-day deal with Chiefs, Bears or 49ers | The Sporting News
An NFL executive told SportsBoom’s Jason La Canfora that he believes the Giants would trade Thibodeaux if a team offers them a third-round pick.
“I think Thibodeaux is gone if they can get a third for him,” one longtime NFL executive said to La Canfora.
Despite a rough 2025 season, Thibodeaux still possesses a ton of talent and can be a productive pass rusher in the NFL.
The Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Bears, and San Francisco 49ers could use a boost in their pass-rushing departments, and Thibodeaux would be an electric draft-day addition for any of these three teams.
An edge rusher duo of George Karlaftis and Thibodeaux would give the Chiefs a much better chance of generating consistent pressure on the quarterback in 2026.
Ex-Chiefs prospect gave a standout performance in UFL Week 2 action | Chiefs Wire
After two weeks into the 2026 UFL season, there continues to be a former Kansas City Chiefs player influence throughout the league.
During the Orlando Storm and Louisville Kings game in the fourth quarter, quarterback Jack Plummer connected with former Chiefs preseason wide receiver Elijhah Badger on a deep ball for 39 yards for a game-changing touchdown. Orlando pushes their record to a league-leading 2-0.
Badger went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft. He had seven career 100-yard receiving games with the Florida Gators. In his final collegiate season, Badger finished with a team high of 803 receiving yards and four touchdowns. The performance was enough to earn an invite to Kansas City’s training camp shortly after the draft.

Marcus Freeman: ‘Unicorn’ RB Jeremiyah Love could be an elite wide receiver | NFL.com
During a recent interview with Colin Cowherd, Fighting Irish coach Marcus Freeman said that Love “might be as good as any player I’ve ever been around.”
“He is a unicorn,” Freeman said. “He is as talented and gifted an athlete as I’ve ever been around, and I think he could be an elite wide receiver, he could be an elite DB. He’s just gifted with a unique skill set. the balance, the ability to jump over you, the ability to run through you.”
Freeman pointed out that even with all the explosives and home-run plays, it’s the little things Love does that make him so special.
“Some of his most impressive runs aren’t the ones that you’re going to see on TV,” Freeman said. “It’s the ones that, as you’re watching film and go, ‘Oh my god, he made that play a 4-yard gain, it should have been a two-yard loss,’ I mean, he’s just, he’s really special, and he’s a unique, unique talent.”
