When it comes to the quarterback position for the Pittsburgh Steelers, there is hoping for the best, and then there is whatever James Harrison is doing.
In the most recent edition of Deebo & Joe, the former Defensive Player of the Year told Joe Haden and Ben Roethlisberger that he is in constant communication with Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow in an attempt to lure him to the Steelers.
“I’ve been doing a lot of talking to Joe Burrow,” Harrison said. “I’ve been conversating with him on a weekly,
bi-weekly basis. I talked to him on the phone yesterday. We’ve been talking about him, you know, going up there and talking to Mr. Brown to see what he needs to do… to maybe get in some black and gold.”
Roethlisberger replied exactly how everyone rightfully replied, saying that Burrow to the Steelers is highly unrealistic.
“Joe Burrow to the Steelers? I would call that a pipe dream,” Roethlisberger said. “I don’t think that’s a reality.”
While nothing is guaranteed in the NFL, the chances of Pittsburgh somehow landing Burrow are slim to none – and even that classification may be giving it more of a sense of possibility that is really there. The Bengals would have to want to trade Joe Burrow, which there is no indication that they would ever want to do that. Additionally, even if they did want to trade Burrow, they almost certainly wouldn’t trade him to a division rival.
