Good morning, baseball fans!
The San Francisco Giants will continue their three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight. In the meantime, I have something fun for you guys today!
I’m not ashamed to admit that I haven’t been able to watch as many games as I would like to have over the last month or so. Between my day job, family stuff, world stuff, etc., I just haven’t had the time. So I was a little confused when I started seeing articles about Drew Gilbert literally everywhere on the internet.
Like I said, I haven’t been able to watch as many games as I normally would, so I didn’t quite understand why there were so many articles about him.
Then, on a phone call with my brother about something else entirely, he mentioned Gilbert so I brought up my confusion and he clarified it in the easiest way possible. Hunter Pence, 2012. Enough said.
Well, enough said if you remember 2012 Hunter Pence, and his off-field antics. I don’t say that in a disparaging way at all, he was the soul of that team. He breathed life into them and kept them motivated even when things looked grim.
I was clearly unfamiliar with Gilbert’s work, and for that I apologize. So today I wanted to share a video from the Giants’ YouTube channel. It’s part of their Mic’d Up series, this time featuring Gilbert himself. Enjoy!
