How was he acquired?
Signed out of Venezuela as part of the 2023 international signing class, Reyes received a bonus of $250,000 to join the Braves organization.
What were the 2025 expectations?
Coming into
the 2025 season, Jeremy Reyes received plenty of hype — and rightfully so. All the 19-year-old has done since he came stateside in 2024 has put up stellar numbers on the mound.
In 36.2 innings pitched between the FCL Braves and the Augusta GreenJackets, Reyes pitched to a sparkling 1.96 ERA — including an ERA of 3.00 in 15 innings at low-A. However, he did struggle with his command over that stretch — averaging 6.1 walks per nine innings — so there were cleary some things he needed to work on moving forward.
The only problem has been that he has made a total of eight starts — nine appearances — between the FCL squad and Augusta, so there wasn’t a ton of eye reports to back up those numbers.
We finally got to see more of Reyes in 2025, and we were lucky to do so.
2025 results
Reyes was sent back to Augusta to continue working on things — most notably his command. All he did with the GreenJackets is dominate, to put it simply.
In 18 starts Reyes tossed 76.1 innings while spinning a 2.71 ERA on the year over that span. He also allowed just two home runs in those 76.1 innings, which were ironically the first homers he had allowed in his professional career to date.
While he did strike out 84 batters, which was good enough for 9.9 strikeouts per nine innings, command was still the one major thing holding Reyes back as he averaged 5.8 free passes per nine frames on the season. While it’s a tick better than in 2024, it still suggests that Reyes has a ways to go in terms of refining his game.
2026 outlook
Reyes will enter 2026 as one of the more tantalizing prospects throughout the Braves’ minor league system. The tools and numbers are there, and by all accounts he has a great work ethic, which bodes well for the young righty.
Likely returning to low-A to continue his development, it wouldn’t be surprising at all to see Reyes get the bump up to Rome after a handful of starts or maybe less than that. While it’s doubtful Reyes will become next year’s Didier Fuentes and make the jump to the big leagues at such a young age, the sky is the limit for Reyes, although his ceiling for 2026 is probably Columbus.
