After being left on the bench for the last two games, speculation has naturally sprung about Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool future. Mike McGrather of The Telegraph is reporting that the Saudi Pro League are
in a position to fund a move for the Egyptian and Liverpool legend should he look for a move abroad.
Of course, Mohamed Salah had been the subject of a £150m bid from Al-Ittihad in 2024. Liverpool rejected the bid. Mo had also previously admitted that talks with SPL clubs were serious before he renewed his Liverpool contract earlier this summer.
Now, it’s an entirely different proposition. Salah’s contract was running down then, and Liverpool have him under contract until 2027 now. But the optics of a club legend getting benched always complicate matters, and if the player wants to move on, amid similar questions hanging over our head coach, who can really fault him?
