For just about every Champions League match, we see video clips of visiting fans marching through the streets of their opponent.
For the first leg of Bayern Munich’s Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain, fans of the Bavarians passed on making the walk due to some issues from the League Phase game in November per Sky Germany journalist Kerry Hau:
Ahead of #PSGFCB, FC Bayern fans are voluntarily forgoing an organized march to the Parc des Princes. There had been issues with the Parisian police
around the game against PSG in November. This time, everything is proceeding peacefully so far. The fan buses are also permitted to travel into the city as usual. @SkySportDE
This is likely the smart move for the fans traveling to the match. Past experience definitely should help dictate future decisions and it seems as if the group took a measure approach to ensuring they can all get to the game, instead of potentially spending that time in jail.
